After working up a big appetite from that hike we headed down to Whistler Village to have some lunch, explore the village and enjoy the sun 🙂

We heard that this place, Splitz Grill, is a well-known and well-loved local burger joint, so we figured we’d try it out.

In the spirit of the “customization” trend at Splitz lets you choose what sauce, spread and fixings to put in your burger. Basically it’s a build-a-burger!  And it’s not cheap….but I guess in this case it’s quantity and quality over price 😉

Of course we had to order a few Chocolate Milkshakes to really make it a complete meal 😉  Seriously overflowing and suuuuper thick and creamy, these were made with the chocolate ice cream they have at the front of the house.  Extremely delicious!!

It’s really a kind of grab-and-go sort of concept with very tight seating and we were lucky to snag a cluster of tables out on the patio.  On the tables you find your basic condiments as you plop your baskets of burgers and fries down and get ready to chow down.

The burgers themselves are pretty enormous, so you really have to bring a big appetite!  I found that the burger itself was above average but not mind-blowing, but what I really liked was the great charring on the pattie.  That really lent some great smokey flavor!
