Dim Sum Time at Wah Wing

April 7th, 2012.  Easter Dim Sum!

Some more eats over the Easter Weekend?  Yes, please!  Dim sum?  Double yes!  I was able to round up a few friends to partake in some Easter Dim Sum 😉

  Pan Fried Turnip Cakes turned out to be really great!  Simply seasoned, not mushy, and with the perfect crisp fry on it.  I’ll keep it in mind for next time.

Spring Rolls are always a nice addition to a dim sum meal.  I liked how these ones were not over-fried or greasy, the wrapper crisped up and crumbled just right and the filling to wrapper ratio was good.

We got one of their special items of the day, Spinach and Shrimp Crystal Dumplings.  Pretty large in side and packed tight with goodies, the shrimp in the filling still had a little “crunch” to it as it should, and the spinach lent a good flavor…and color 🙂  nI still prefer chives, but this one worked well.

Dim sum ain’t dim sum without Sticky Rice!  Sticky rice, savory sausage, and the smokiness of being wrapped up and steamed in lotus leaf.

I spotted Xiao Long Bao on the menu.  I couldn’t resist trying it!  Well…..I wasn’t super impressed….not enough soup inside and they just weren’t right…

And since Richard is all about balls…..(hahahaha!) of course the Steamed Beef Balls made an appearance on the table!  Oh my…..they didn’t look exactly appetizing….so I left it for the boys to tackle.  I was already full!

 

Another satisfactory meal!  Always better when you’re with friends and even more s when you are eating with friends who love food 😉
