November 11th, 2011. Snowy Day~~
Wow, snow falling~! It made me suddenyl have the urge to cook one of my favorite Korean dishes, Soon-doo-boo Jji-gae (Silky Tofu Stew). Since I’ve never cooked Korean food before I was feeling a bit apprehensive….but…here goes nothing!!
Here’s how the process went: Used beef stock as a base for the soup, added chopped onions, salt & pepper and some hot chili oil. Sauteed some homemade kimchi and pork belly slices, added that and a pack of Pulmuone handmade silky tofu and brought it to a boil. And made the very unethical decision to add a sprinkle of thyme! Yep, that’s me… unconventional Korean food!
