December 30th, 2010. Pre-NYE Dinner~
I love my Relate/Ignite friends. We’ve really grown closer the last year and our bonding happens a lot over food! We definitely wanted to all get together for a dinner to celebrate the holiday season. After a lot of consideration and last minute decisions we finally settled on Vault Restaurant in Cloverdale. I’d read good things and we were all anticipating a good time! Because we were a pretty large group the restarurant wasn’t sure how they could seat us..but they managed to make it work. We ended up sitting in front of a stage where this odd heavily bearded man was performing a one-man instrumental show….it was…odd. But also provided us with entertainment! Liz was fascinated..Lol!
We couldn’t stop eating the bread!! It was warm, super fluffy inside and the whipped butter was perfection!!! This is the kind of bread I want at a restaurant
Josh and I shared this appetizer, Smoked Lox with Grainy Mustard Aioli, Capers and Red Onion on Wonton Crisps. I absolutely love smoked slamon, and this one quite good. Great buttery flavor, strong smokiness, and the salty capers, tangy red onions and spicy mustard worked really well. And of course the crsipy wontons wer a great vehicle for the mix! Josh and I were happy
My dinner was the Ale Braised Beef Short Ribs Served With Bourbon Sauce. After the succulent experience I had at Suika I just had to try this version at Vault. MONEY!! Fall off the bone, extremely tender, juicy meat, deep and rich sauce that’s just the right balance of sweet and savory. The juicy-ness of everything was perfect mixed with the excellently mashed potato.
I think it was Lawrence who had this beautiful Pork Tenderloin Served With Maple Apple Demi-Glaze. It looks absolutely delicious!!
We left feeling very impressed with the level of food at Vault Restaurant. I was very impressed with both things that I had. An incredible amount of flavor and thought went into it. For a tiny little town Cloverdale has one really amazing gem of a restaurant!!
